A user of the Smash Boards has discovered that additional stage downloadable content could be coming to the Nintendo 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. The content was found within the Super Smash Bros Nintendo 3DS ROM dump. Here’s the details that the user has found thus far.

The following text appears in the Smash Rom Dump:

Set the stages that won’t appear, even when selection is set to random.
All Off
All On
Turn all stages off.
Make all stages available when using random stage selection.
See stages you have downloaded.
See all regular stages.
Select OFF to exclude this stage from random stage selection.
Select ON to include this stage in random stage selection.

It matches the stage selection in additional rules perfectly.

Also note the notice the missing square, just like in the stage selection screen. That’s where you can select the DLC.

Well, wasn't it obvious? It'll definitely have new downloadable characters as well, and maybe a few new game modes.

My worry is the pricing... Like, they hit homerun with MK8's pricing but will they do it again with SSB? Like, its too worrying to think about for me T_T

I basically called it that there will be stage DLC, if any.

Hopefully there are good deals ala MK8, with or without DLC Characters.

Gross, if true. Extra stages and/or characters should be included in the base game; consumers shouldn't have to spend extra money to get a complete game experience.

I sincerely hope Nintendo doesn't continue to walk down this cynical path with its upcoming software.

Well, I have never purchased DLC in my life, and I'm not starting now.

Settle down, we don't even know if its going to have a price tag. For all we know next year theere will be a 2.0 patch that shares the stages between 3ds and wii-u for free. Or stages will be bundled in with a new game mode / characters. The data is just there as a preset for what they know they want to do. 

Remember, its Sakurai leading the way on this game.

Fair enough. I don't mean to jump to conclusions.

That being said, considering Nintendo's prior moves with Fire Emblem, Mario Golf, and, most recently, Mario Kart, it's reasonable to assume that Smash Bros. DLC, if it indeed exists, will be paid.

I kinda miss the days where people really didn't know about ROM dumping and ISO ripping and everything came as a surprise. But it is so tempting! It just has to be done. This is why gamers are so hard to impress, well... real gamers anyway.
