That's the entire reason we read and go to review sites. In order to help us make a buying decision which is normaly made on the day of release of a new game. I understand that a full review and the entire game can't be enjoy until the server are full but Partial reviews and on going reviews should have at least been release by now.
Did Bungie create a boring dud that doesn't hold up and tried to over achieved. When World of warcraft was release, reviewers had not experience the final content and the world wasn't as populated as the final version. But they were able to give us a sense of the experience and make a recommendation. Bungie is controlling the media since there so much hype about this game that negative reviews could hurt the initial sales.
I'm very intrigue with this game and would love to hear early impression of Destiny. There so many aspect to the game that can be covered, the graphic, the cinematic, the AI, The weapons, Sounds and feels. You don't need a fully populated world in order to give early impression. It's when you have a dud or a glitchy game like watch dogs that you want to prevent all reviews before the release of the game. Well if you look at the score watch dogs wasn't really a broken game... it just had it's flaws and strenght.
The reviews don't go out trying to kill a game, they simply let gamers know what to expect.
