Relative to the fact it's expected to be visually and performance-wise better. But what else is there apart from larger worlds + render distance?

Even if it was the completely same game without any improvements, why should it get a worse score?

Gameplay is timeless, graphics aren't. So if the gameplay stays the same and graphics go with the times it shouldn't get a worse rating than what it got before.
