This game looks fantastic, the whole style is incredibly charming. And I love the music (i.e. so far the song from the first trailer).

This is the first game that could make me buy a PS3, if I had a HDTV.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I doubt we'll be able to add textures(pictures) that are not built into the game. The highlighted idea would violate trademark laws. Also being able to add any image to a level and broadcast it to the public would seem like opening a huge pandora's box (violent and/or sexually explicit materials). This is as far as I know. If Media Molecule has stated otherwise, then I retract what I wrote.

You can. The game calls them "stickers" and they're a major part of customizing characters and levels.

How they'll be moderated, I don't know. My guess is that reporting sexually explicit stuff will probably be up to the community, and I'd imagine most copyrighted material would fall under fair use (not that that's ever kept anyone from being sued).

Ugh, still ugly. Maybe I just have a taste for things that are finely crafted. I still think Beanie Babies are cuter. Anything that reminds of something like a voodoo doll sickens me (I had a bad experience in the past with stuff crafted like this at an arts show I attended at).

I had it typed in but decided to delete it because the release date is still too far away.
I wanted to create a thread to pool everyones ideas together for an official VGC level when it gets closer to launch date.
Of course there should be some vgchartz advertisements along with the level.


I was thinking of a "level" similar to that in the original GDC vid, and where you begin (by the "Start" sign) there would be a big banner on a white piece of wood in the background that says "Official VGChartz level"or something, and it would have the VGC pie chart below it. I wonder if we can also change the theme music midgame.
It would be awesome if we could.
We would have easier control over the level's atmosphere.

Why don't you build it with a "chart" theme? Climb up line graph mountains, work your way past bar graphs bobbing up and down, crawl over rotating pie charts (maybe with a section missing for a sackboy to fit into, or handles to swing from). And color the whole thing with bright primary colors, like the charts in the site logo.
