If this is Madden week I'm going to laugh to all the people who said that it would do relatively better than PS4. HAHAHAHA! I think all the naysayers need to except PS4 as the beast for now. Especially with Destiny where I think that the PS4 will have a 500k (full 7 days), and even some people think Destiny can change something about the position of Xone.

Now I don't even think that the Halo Collection will move a lot of consoles. Maybe Halo 5

Madden is next week. Though I don't see why anyone would think it could push XBO ahead of PS4 worldwide. Unless they're just completely delusional.

Well they mean globally in the US obviously. Which means PS4 in US outselling Xone worldwide I guess.

Jokes aside I literally read a lot of posts like this:

"Just wait until Madden releases. Xbone will definitely gain a big boost and will be ahead of PS4 in US that particular weak" or "Just wait until Madden gets out on Xbox One"

And they use reasoning that the franchise sold better on 360 or that it is a US game and Xbox One is a US console or some of that bullshit.

It is a US game (if you mean by easily outselling EU and RoW). And it does sell better on Microsofts consoles.

I don't think the XOne version will outsell the PS4, but the margins will be much closer compared to any other multiplat game.

Actually relative to install base Madden sells better on PS3 in North Ammerica by the look of your table. PS3:360 install base ratio is 1:1.6. PS3:360 Madden 25 sales is 1:1.3. therefore the attach rate for Madden is better on PS3. Dunno how it went through the generation with each Madden title but showing Madden 25 is not a good example of what you're trying to say.

So actually with a bigger install base, PS4 Madden sales should be significantly more than Xb one.

Think about the install base now vs then though. They were roughly even on launch timeframe, but 2014 has put a ton of air between them.

Yep, you're right. I'm fairly new so excuse me if I make an invalid point haha. So yes, that kind of changes from what I was thinking now, means PS4 should sell even at HIGHER margins (software) when Madden is released. At least I showed it IS a US game though.

Also I think it was a fine example. Madden has been released sequentially for 25 years. The games market/customer base is pretty saturated at this point. It's clear Madden sells best in the US EVERY year. Madden also sold best on the 360 every year compared to the PS3, but as you pointed out that isn't saying much.

Still can't believed that people were bitching about that lol. I remember two sides before TLOU released. One stating that it should have been a PS4 launch game and one that said that it is good that Sony supports the PS3 late in the gen. Currently two sides again on the interwebz stating that it shouldn't have been released and the others who adored it (rightly so).

Well, I think consumers have spoken with the amount of sales it is receiving outpacing inFamous Second Son which was a real exclusive and will probably end up higher than that game in the end. Well...back to playing TLOU:R
