I'm gonna go with 2 million. It's never been a big selling series and I don't see it changing much. It does have Guillermo and Darryl attached to it. But the franchise itself has limited appeal it seems.

You forget Silent Hill is rather niche. Even with Kojima and Del Toro behind, it would be pretty bizarre if this new entry sells more than 2 million units.

too pessimistic man.   tomb raider was in the shitter and the reboot completely turned things around for the franchise.  

i have never played a silent hill game in my life,.. frankly it barely ever registered as existing to me.   ..but i played that P.T game and i'm sold on silent hills.  this is silent hill's reboot game.   i don't give a shit what happened in that franchise prior to now, as far as i'm concerned they don't even exist.  i just really want to play the game kojima and del toro are currently putting together.

I thought that at first xD I can't say exactly what I mean without spoiling everything. But the games is essentially a "what if the bad ending of Silent Hill 1 was canon"

Just a bunch of poorly made survival horror games that try their best to emulate the success and story of Silent Hill 2.


Exactly, but let's also not forget SH Origins and SH Shattered Memories that tried and failed miserably to add to and "reimagine" SH1.

To be honest, I would love to see this new game bomb, and bomb hard at that. The original creators are long gone, and they have all moved on to other things. They madethree incredible enduring classics of the genre, and lesser developers and hack film directors have been trying to piggback off of Team Silent's success for years now. Quit dancing on Silent HIll's grave Konami.

To be clear, I am not against Kojima making a new game. Personally, I don't think the man has come close to making a decent game in his life, but apparently a large group of people love his games for some reason. Go ahead and make a horror game, but don't tarnish Silent Hill's name even further. Call it something else and make it an original horror experience disconnected from Silent Hill. You are the vice president of the company now with a long track record of high selling games. Who is going to stop you if you want to make a new ip?

I wouldn't say this game is a reboot, though.

Also, man this game looked gorgeous on PSP, how impressed I was, still am, of the handheld adaptation.
