I don't mind waiting 12-16 months for a game after I see first footage, like BioShock did.

On the other hand, Brawl, KZ2, Alan Wake, GT5, MGS4, etc. etc. are over the top with their 2+ years until launch. Sony seems to be particularly bad in this regard. They hype shit way too far in advance.

I think hype machines start for some games too early.

Then again, in the case of Sony's lineup, they really had little choice but to hype what they had at the time even if it was a long way away.
