Twilight Princess?

Yeah, that's the one. Came out early in the Wii's life.

That one was a Wii launch title and released only a few weeks after the Gamecube version. It was a cross-gen titles, yes, but not exactly a re-release.

Only because they delayed the GameCube version to make it seem so. GameCube owners weren't amused back then. I still remember that. It was similar to how Ubisoft treated Rayman Legends even though the WiiU version was completed.

I have to agree about Nintendo prices. Look at Skyward Sword, still at full price!! A game released in 2011!!! Also, the virtual console is another example. Since 2006 (I SAID 2006), the prices are the same. No price cut in 8 years! NES games cost almost the same of PS1 classics on PSN! This is outrageous!

I like Nintendo, but the prices are too high.

There was a scandal a couple of years back where it was discovered that Nintendo was bullying retailers into selling older games for the same amount as when released. Nintendo was even open about it as they critisized Sony and Microsoft for lowering game prices a couple of months after release because that would lead to a mentality of wait and purchase for less later on. People are either ignoring this or were too young back then to know.

There is a fundamental difference between a "HD-Remaster" of an one year old game and a remake of a 10 year old game with substantial changes of gameplay and graphics.

And I don't mind simple HD rereleases like TLoU. If people want them, they should buy them. But I think many people who bought TLoU on PS3 would have waited with their purchase if they had known that there would be a "better" version only a year later. No one who purchased the original Wind Waker would have waited 10 years for the remake ...

So I feel very uneasy with this HD-Remaster from Sony. They should have waited a few years and release a real remake that not only includes better graphics but optimised the partially rough gameplay, story and controls too.

And you're downright wrong on WWHD being a complete remake.

And you're downright wrong on WWHD NOT being a complete remake.

Then why would glitches present in the Gamecube version, still work in the Wii U version?

Or from Cosmo's observations of the WW HD trailer back last year.

There are quite a lot of things from the GC version that they did NOT change for the Wii U release. WW HD is no where near on the same level as clear remakes such as Fire Red/Leaf Green or Resident Evil Remake.

That would take a lot more time and more resources, since they have to bascially change most of the game's assets. For a game like Metal Gear Solid 1, I think a remake would do a great service to the game, but games which still play well today like Wind Waker, a simple HD boost is really all that is needed.

Same game engine.  A remake doesn't require the game engine be rebuilt from scratch.  That's a waste of resources in game development.

You think Resident Evil on GC used a completely rewritten game engine from the original game?

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Cosmo also found out that many of the glitches were fixed.

^ its blue for some reason lol

Well, it's 720p upscaled to 1080p. It has a bloom filter, etc. These are pretty minor expected things of a remaster.

The neogaf link kinda proves my point that these things are noticed and pointed out because of the great magnifying glass the series gets put under. A lot of it can be summed up as "We made changes to conform with modern game design. It's easier and we added an optional higher difficulty."

the original is in SD there really is no reason for you to mention that it was upscaled from 720p to 1080p. it seems to me you throw all facts out of the window. they changed literally everything when it comes to graphics and they even changed some of the gameplay mechanics. you cant deny all of this. if this is not a full fledgeg remaster then nothing is. its basically wind waker 1.5

I do think it's a full fledged remaster. That's it though. I do not consider it to be a remake.

Look at FFX/FFX-2 HD. It's considered a remaster despite far more time being spent fro it.

FFX/X-2 only got rid of the jaggies. Also added an orchestrated soundtrack for X.

I think the reason TLOU:R got so much hate was that the remaster got announced not even a year after the main game came out. WWHD is a remake of a game over a decade old.

If Sony had waited another four or five years, this probably wouldn't be an issue.

Not saying TLOU:R is a cash-grab, just pointing out that the backlash could have been avoided.
