As long as the game is packed with content and runs well then I don't care about it being 720p...

You may do that, but you are the small minority. Most people play consoles on a relatively big screen and sit far away.

If you are sitting close to the TV, it usually means you have a small one, which makes resolution differences even harder to notice. Differences are most noticeable when people sit close to a big TV, which most people don't.

just stop dude. its embarrassing

”The environment where PlayStation wins is best for this industry” (Jack Tretton, 2009)

Could not care less about the resolution, I just want to see how the new hardware is used to the expand the scope of the first true next gen assassins creed. The series was one most greatest achievements of the 7th gen taking gamers on fantastic journeys through the levant, renaissance Italy, Constantinople ... It was one kind of a kind. Truly an EPIC series.
And now with new hardware a game based in Paris during the events which shaped modern society, it's going to be amazing, 1080p or not :p

Then stop quoting me. I know what my eyes see, I'm not caught up in numbers or pure pixel count.

People conveniently forget that in real life, it is extremely hard to notice a major difference between upscaled 1080p and native 1080p, as long as the game is upscaled well.

They probably forget that because it's not true.

Oh really? Maybe a botched upscale, sure, but in most games, unless you look at them closely side-by-side, you will be hard-pressed to notice much of a difference. Usually people are sitting far away from their TVs and not paying attention to every minute pixel.

I wish what you said was true. I own a Wii U and it's telling if even the comic graphics of the mario games make the difference obvious. I don't want to see a realistic game with fist sized pixels. I don't wan to live last gen.

Yeah, some games are pretty bad at upscaling, but it really depends. The Wii U has never been great at upscaling anyway. If you upscale a 900p game well, it will be hard to notice the difference unless you are looking VERY closely.

I am always looking very closely. That's the point of my big screen. If I lean in I can see individual pixels. So with upscaled 720p I don't even have to lean in for them to hit me in the face.

No, it makes them even easier to notice. Smaller screens take better advantage of the increased pixel density, while big screens suffer from 1080p not being high enough. ~2M pixels on a smaller screen = better quality than ~2M pixels on a bigger screen

To each his own, I suppose. I don't see much of a difference between upscaled 900p and 1080p on my TV, but that's just me. It is noticeable on the Wii U, but then again almost all of Nintendo's games don't scale extremely well.
