Forums - Gaming - Favorite JRPG of all time?

Agreed with outlawauron. Final Fantasy IX. I loved the storyline, setting and characters. The black mage storyline really had me hooked, and it was very emotional and meaningful. It was the first game that ever made me cry. The ending was one of the best from the series.

Tales of Symphonia and Chrono Trigger. Typical favorites.

They get a 1 day ban like Rocketpig said.

kh-deep story and i personally like the combat

ff9-best cast of characters ever. i just love the characters. all of them. i mean it.

ffx-deep but subtle story, good battle mechanics

chrono trigger-didnt overstay its welcome at all, and had great battle mechanics, and a beautifully crafted story

legend of dragoon-great story, love the battle system, first jrpg

my pillars of gaming: kh, naughty dog, insomniac, ssb, gow, ff

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

FFX: I loved the graphics, the story was great compared to FFXII, the ability to watch the CG and listen to the music over again was great. I loved playing blitzball, the battle system was fun and the way you learned different abilities the special weapons for each character. I put about 330hours into the game, about 120 into FF9 and less the 100 into FF12.

I wonder what will happen when AoA says Dark Cloud 2 =p.

1. Chrono Trigger - Characters, Story, Music and Gameplay were just perfect.

2. Chrono Cross - Not as Good as CT in Characters but the Best OST ever.

3. Final Fantasy VII - First Final Fantasy I've ever played. Heard FF6 is better but havent played it. If only they made a remake cause it looks dated.

4. Xenogears - Most under rated RPG ever. Beats all in terms of depth in story. Great OST too.

5. FFXII - Might lack the depth in story telling compared to other FFs but this game beats all in terms of gameplay.

@konnichiwa
Im sure some noob will get confused and will post a WRPG or non-JRPG title .

1. Final Fantasy VII

2. narrative, character design, graphical design, music, battle design, seriousness, humor, cg's, overworld, npc's, side-games, epicness and some other factors, all come together in this
