Just experienced an earthquake in UK

I can't tell you how strong it was (I live in UK and things like this just DON'T happen), but it sounded like the building was falling down and it was a struggle to keep my ballance when standing up.

It lasted  about 10 seconds. I am in student accomodation and as soon as it was over i left my room an heard random girl screams lol.

It felt strong to me, but like i said, i have never experienced anything like this because they just don't ever happen.

I live in Sheffield UK, did anyone else feel this at 1.00am who lives close?

Well I didn't felt anything...

i was in an earthquake last year!! it was small but it was my first one ever!! and when i felt it i was like oh my god earth quake!! i loved it and they said we would have an after shock but we didnt i think it was from lake erie or something like that! i would love to have another one that would be so cool!!

Just text a friend who also lives in Sheffield, it woke her up too.

She said 'Don't worry, i felt it too'

I said 'I didn't think we got earthquakes in UK'

She said 'My thoughts exactly, but apparently we were both wrong' LOL

Felt it in London, got friends in manchester, sheffield and nottingham who all felt it

Your topic title had "England in it", that's why no one bothered looking.

...

Yeah I'm in York, also in uni accommodation and I also heard girls screaming lol. I wasn't sure what the protocol I should be following is (there probably isn't any!) but it was over before I did anything anyway.

As long as it keeps at that low strength, its pretty cool, haha.
