Played Tomb Raider on Xbox 360, then got the definitive version as the first game on my PS4, and then got the game free for PS3 from the PSN. Didn't find the transition jarring or even that noticeable, to be honest.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. Spent 5 minutes taking a screenshot in photomode, then completely forgot i was in 30fps mode for the next 20. The effect is a lot different on PC of course. The combination of a screen near my face and using a mouse makes 30fps very noticeable. I'm happy enough with 40 - 60 though (which happens pretty frequently in FF14, when running around busy locations). The only thing worse than 30fps on PC is 720p... i tried it once... *shudders* |
PC is unforgiving, indeed with the mouse you can turn much faster and strafing is more natural as well which makes any bit of screen tearing highly noticeable. When using the pc on a projector with a controller 30fps is not a problem either, resolution and screen tearing are though. Why is there even an option to send unfinished frames to the display, barbaric :)
Can we actually tell the difference as long as framerate is smooth? As long as it's smooth it could be 600fps for all i care

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
