Alright when I downloaded ubuntu for ps3 from their site and named the file PS3>otheros>otheros.bld my ps3 detected it and it installed. I lost the cd so I was trying to help my friend who recently got a ps3 install it. So we did all the steps that I did for mine but when we tried to detect the installer it said that none could be found. Why? We spent 5 hrs trying to do this but it wouldn't work. We tried using cds,dvds,flash drives, external hdds, compact flash ,sd , and pro duo but none worked. Could somebody help? Is it his ps3? The ps3 has all of the updates and has the 10gb partition needed for linux. It is a 80gb.

The official PS3 forums would be your best bet for help, not too many PS3 owners here and even less have Linux.
