Ken Levine Says BioShock Vita Could Have Been a “Final Fantasy Tactics Style Thing Set in Pre-Fall Rapture”
Gaming has always had its fair share of “white whales,” those games that are always spoken of or talked about (almost in legend), but sadly either see release far, far into the future, or never even see a release at all: take for instance, Ken Levine’s BioShock Vita project, which has been rumored on for nearly five years.
In a series of recent tweets, BioShock creator Ken Levine shed a little bit of light on what fans could have expected from the BioShock Vita title, as Levine explained the project as a sort of cross of the series with Final Fantasy Tactics-styled gameplay, set during the “pre-fall” era of Rapture’s history, as seen briefly in the Burial at Sea DLC episodes of BioShock Infinite.
Levine mentioned that he is still actively pushing for a new BioShock title on Vita, though he also detailed that currently the project is still in the hands of “business guys” between Sony and 2K Games, and that there has not been any progression or development on the title since then.
on the Vita game: 2k and sony couldn't put a deal together when I last checked. They seemed way more optimistic about this back in 2011.
