so i buy a game digitally,.. to date i'm faced with a several hour wait until i get to play it depending on the size of the game.
with psnow cross buy with my digital library i can kick off the background download and start playing the psnow version immediatly. so i see a game i want and i get to play it within 30 seconds. not only is that faster than a download that's faster than going to the store. totally and completely immediate. that makes digital games pretty appealing compared to retail. in a few hours or perhaps the next day i just switch over to the locally downloaded copy so i'm not limited by any downgrades to resolution or whatever the fuck else you want to complain aobut.
now i head over to a friends house. i could bring over my games library but that is pretty lame. i mean, who the fuck has CDs anymore when mp3s are so much more convient. well with psnow cross buy when i head over to my friends house my entire digital library travels with me. no need to carry a disc, no need to download a 50 Gb file. just an idea that, "hey, let's play xxx" and then 30 seconds later we're playing. that makes digital games pretty appealing compared to retail.
now i head over to my mother in law's house. she doesn't game. but you know what,.. it doesn't matter that she doesn't and won't ever own a games console. she has a internet enabled tv. i download the psnow app and bam,.. i'm gaming at her house anyways. that makes digital games pretty appealing compared to retail.
..or i'm at work on my launch hour. what's that,.. i have a pc in front of me. my lunch hour just became my gaming hour.
if you don't see the advantage you're not trying very hard. psnow could be god damn revolutionary if sony does thing right. making psnow cross buy with my psn titles is 1 part. the other part is an elagant cloud save system that allows me to flip services quickly and easily.
if sony does that i'll pay. i'll pay a lot of money actually. i'll pay an amount that makes ps+ and live gold subscriptions look like chump change.
