Methinks if they can't get everything squared away with Nintendo and Activision, they should abandon 007 and, instead, give the treatment to the original Perfect Dark game, which is far superior in every facet.

Except that alien sniper rifle.  That weapon is just broken.

Around the Network

You don't like instant kills from anywhere in the level, Kasz216? lol, that weapon was a pain in the ass.

Really though if you take out all the bond music, bond weapons, bond characters, bond levels, then what do you have left? A generic and bland FPS by today's standards. Goldeneye was an incredible console FPS back in the day, when those were few and far between and often of questionable quality, but now that's not the case. The game hasn't aged well, it feels sluggish, akward, with annoying hit detection and low damage weapons.

As brilliant as it was back in the day, to try and re-release it now as a new product wouldn't make it look too good. Especially to the millions that have Halo 3, and Team Fortress 2 that never played goldeneye. And if you take out all the bond stuff that gives it a distinctive flavor, then you're not left with very much at all. Especially if they upgrade to make it faster, smoother, ect. Then you have a game that doesn't feel like goldeneye at all. It's a completely different FPS that has a few levels from goldeneye and maybe a few guns from goldeneye. Without the liscense there is no purpose to the project.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Vagabond - I don't know if that would be the extent to what the IP details cover....But we'd need to ask a lawyer.

IMO, as much as one would like to bash how bad 007 is compared to newer FPS games, I don't see 007 being much inferior to the (still crappy) Perfect Dark Zero.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
