They would want to keep the successful franchises, not get rid of them.

It's not possible both could happen. Selling their best selling IP would devalue the company. And make it less likely for someone else to buy Capcom and less likely for Capcom to succeed again. They'll sell it all outright or not at all.

Selling the IP only devalues the company by how much the IP was worth.

But the advantage of selling the IP individually is there will be more bidders so they are likely to get a price higher than its worth. But when selling the entire company outright, no-one pays the total worth because whoever is thinking of buying is also thinking of shutting down half of it right after they have bought it.
