I just comment on this part. CD has been out for over 25 years now. Well, perhaps to you 25 years is a short time. And CD's are still selling more than MP3's, unless you count in illegal MP3's.

Was that a shot at me? After my last response to you, you have declined to address my counterarguments, declined to answer questions about your position, and declined to provide evidence when it was requested. If you feel that my argumentation or evidence is weak or wrong, poke holes in it instead of simply insisting that I'm "insisting". I am in fact responding to what counterpoints you do make.

You say that Blu-ray isn't selling? For that to be an argument in support of your assertion it seems to me that you would have to argue that it was selling worse than HD-DVD and I would like to see your evidence for that. I briefly searched for it myself; I didn't find any recent software comparisons but I did find a story that verifies your statement about Warner's statement while simultaneously undercutting its accuracy:

Very well, but in that case THAT DOES NOTHING TO SUPPORT YOUR ASSERTION W.R.T. HD DVD VERSUS BLU-RAY. I only "twisted" your words (by which I suppose you mean when I said IF you meant this, then...) in an attempt to make your post make fucking SENSE. Congratulations, this is the closest your accusation has been to being right yet. I suspect I now know what you were trying to argue (and, again, if I'm right it still does nothing to support your assertion), but God forbid I put words in your mouth.

[edit: [edit2: stupidity was removed] True, Blu-ray killed HD-DVD before either reached mainstream, but that in no way proves that it was entirely or almost entirely accomplished due to studio pressure etc. rather than consumer choice. If anything I would think that enthusiasts would be LESS susceptible to being manipulated by studio pressure than the main market, since they are more aware of the technical merits/faults of the formats and are more likely to be format fanboys supporting their precious to the grave and beyond; whereas mainstream consumers just buy the one with all the movies they like.

[Or is that not on point to your argument? It seems to me that a lot of the acrimony so far has been created by you saying something that's not entirely clear to me, me saying "did you mean this?" or "if this is what you meant...", and you responding "ZOMG WORD TWISTING".]
