Forums - Gaming - Destiny's resolution is now higher on Xbox One thanks to GPU adjustment

Given that the game had not been launched, and has not even entered beta yet, any talk of its resolution or improvements/changes is purely nonsensical.

No actual figures of what to what are given, so why even argue over it.

Interesting, so games are actually benefiting from this.

So what happens if you try and use kinect while Destiny is running?

720 -> 792?

Whats this?

Different resolutions.  The article doesn't tell us what the resolution was and how much it has been improved

From a technical perspective even one line of pixels it's an improvement. So, given the fact that article didnt give any specific, we can conclude that their change/boost is either not a clear/finished state or, to avoid mokery from the internet, MS just show half the truth - the positive aspect.

Wow, so now MS is actively encouraging gamers and developers to stay away from kinect? Talk about a 180.

That's what I asked every time but no one wants to answer that.

Would make a great slogan. "Wanna have a worse gaming experience? Use that thing we said was essential and are advertising heavily!"

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

hm.. to be accurate Spencer said "they're going to up the resolution", not that they already did

I wonder how much they can increase the native res for the X1 version. Do we have any information how high it was supposed to be before the new SDK?

Another question is whether or not this influences the Kinect capabilities of the OS while Destiny is running. I imagine the voice commands are still active, while advanced techniques like skeletal tracking and heart rate tracking etc is deactivated.

Voice is not part of that reserve that has been released. Now as far as resolution who knows as Infinity Ward pretty much blamed kinect resources being reserved  for Ghosts being 720p awhile back. If I had to guess probably looking at 900p.

I dont think its 900p because this is going to be 60FPS game due to shooter and online. So, it may be 792p at best in Xbox one and 900p in PS4.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Be nice if it can match the PS4 now, then we can stop with all these resolution threads.

Would rather have full Kinect UI and OS functionally with whatever resolution that allows 60fps than a few extra lines of resolution and a gimped OS. Give up on the graphics war M$, follow your own roadmap and give unique experiences. It's getting sad.
