There is 50 cars, and it took 7 months to make one.  so they started making this game about 7 years ago?

I'm assuming you're joking?

If not, they can make more than one car at once.

And I quote:

  1. Each car takes approximately seven months to create - from initial licensing, reference collation, CAD data processing, asset production, physics modelling, through to the final car in-game.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it sounds like it takes them 7 months to create a car one by one, or all 50 at once? Its not clear so I'm asking.

edit: I did some digging on my own, and I learned it took them 9 years to make Driveclub.

According to this article from Edge. http://www.edge-online.com/features/drive-club-the-evolution-racer-nine-years-in-the-making/#null

Yes and no, they could've stated it more accurately which is 7 months in man hours, which, when divied up among a bunch of people, doesn't take 7 total months.  Polyphony Digital has made similar statements, but made sure to put the man hours in there.
