On PS4 and X1? Mario Kart 8 has lowered it's resolution to achieve that in the WiiU and the FPS is not a constant 60 as was proven recently.

Forza 5 cut a lot of corners. Cardboard crowds, baked lighting, and lack of anti-aliasing. Mario Kart 8 runs at 720p (still looks great, though). As for Gran Turismo, we haven't had a current-gen Gran Turismo yet.

And don't forget they've already mentioned in an interview with Access that they're experimenting with whether: 'but more of that closer to launch'. This racer is the first racing game I've ever been interested in. |
lol. And why is that? Because of all these graphical niceties that have no influence on the gameplay at all?
I really don't see the point in half of the things on that list. But then again, maybe I'll change my mind when I play it.

you are very smart, i am convinced by your point of view now
you made me sorry I ever thought 60 fps was available or even achievable for console racing games

It sets the bar really high and will motivate PD to try to top what Evolution has achieved. Can't wait to see the final product of DC and obviously, GT7. |
As much as I love those small details I'd rather see Polyphony focus on their driving, more different cars, AI and the career system. Polyphony never dissapoint but the more I read into the level of details they put in DC the more I think they should've spent more time with what's relevant and that's the cars and handling... sure the environment is important but at some point, some details become useless... was this game delayed to add wet leaves and 3D clouds? Will these make it a better game with only 50 cars? I mean, maybe a little more talk on the handling and less on the subtle graphics would be appreciated... I hope at E3 we will see more of what the gameplay is about than how many trees there are in the mountain.
Don't take this as a rant, more like questions that needs to be answered before talking about those small details. My bro is getting a PS4 next month and I will be interested in buying games, but if the handling and career mode are lacking, no amount of details will push me to purchase when the title will be given for free.

"Conversion of kinetic energy to heat is physically modelled to accurately render the temperature and glow colour of brake discs."
I see no point in this (and many others like it). A lot of this seems like it is simply for bragging rights.

Racing aside, I do actually like to just 'drive' in Gran Turismo at check out the environments. This game will allow that same kind of GT driving with a next step in attention to detail. I know it's a niche group to be focusing on, but we are out there! :)
