Forums - Gaming - Since no one else will say it; Destiny looks dissapointing

I do think playing as a faceless warrior seems to be very dated now. It only worked with Master Chef* for...I don't know why but it seemed to work.

*Yes it is deliberate.

I disagree. I much prefer silent protagonists in almost every genre.

I'm not alone.

I agree I don't see why every gets so excited for this game. It seems to have more to do with it being a multi play Bungie game than the actual footage.

Glad they are excited about a game. I just don't get it.

Thats what it was always about. Halo for ps4.........

no one really cared about how it would actually turn out.

I still see some bone head comments about it being the highest selling game this year........

Dunno what to say to that. But I have to quote it since it's... Well it's obvious what it is.

Destiny looks boring. This gen has been a huge disappointment when it comes to none Nintendo games. That's would be fine for me if Nintendo's release schedule wasn't up it's own ass.

Killzone was mediocre. Rise was bad. Infamous was mediocre. Titanfall was mediocre. Watch_Dogs is mediocre. Ground Zeroes exists. Theif was disappointing. Wolfenstein was as generic as it was always going to be, but at least that game wasn't trying to be more grand than it knew it was. Everything else is delayed. It's not just Destiny. Pretty much everything looks like trash.

Really? Again? In every thread I have to hear from you how bad much of a disappointment this generation has been.

It's getting old - and it's completely ignoring the status quo of a new gen.

I don't care if you think it's getting old. This generation's terrible start is getting old. And as I've said in those other threads, other gens were not this bad.

The Wii had Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart Wii, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl out in its first year and a half. The 360 had Gears of War, Call of Duty 2, Dead Rising, and Saints Row in it's first year. PS3 at least had Resistance: FoM and Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but it's start was notoriously shit. That's exclusives. This generation doesn't compare at all. It's all just pretty mediocrity, and some of it isn't even pretty.

For Destiny to look disappointing it would have to be interesting first. So no. Destiny does not look disappointing.

Every game these days has it's own group of haters. It's all the fashion.

Not falling for the hype is being a hater? Also, that really applies to anything not just games.

No, but calling a game "trash" when it hasn't even launched is. You can be sceptical all you want, but "trash" is way over the top and unnecessary.

I don't think many people would care about this game if it didn't have the Bungie name attached to it. The game gives me a Fuse vibe.

I think Activision knows it too. Which is why whenever it gets shown it says "From the creators of Halo"

Well to be fair that is a pretty good label to have. A developer and publisher that were involved in the two most important FPS of the last decade. Anyone would keep on hammering that point. Best way to get casual gamers intrigued.

Yea but have you played Killer Instinct?

I have a bias for fighting games, and think Killer Instinct is the best non Nintendo next gen game so far, so I didn't factor that in, lol. Plus it isn't truely a full retail game, so it's lacking in content. I LOVE Killer Instinct lol, like obsessively.

Lol it is freaking fantastic. Its my 1st KI and im so hooked. I wish more ppl would keep buying it.

i personally think its awesome. to each their own though.

i wish Microsoft would give it the respect it deserves. I like it better than Super Street Fighter IV, which is insane given what you're getting.

They should've handed down Destiny to Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog is king. Did you see The Last of Us?!
