Before I buy one I'd like these last few questions answered. 

1. Do you need internet access for the required install of games on PS4/X1?

2. If I uninstall a game to make room on the HDD does it also delete the patches downloaded for that game?

3. How long does the average game take to install on the PS4?

I don't believe so.

I'm not sure, I haven't uninstalled a game yet.

It takes quite a while to fully install a game (up to an hour or more) but you can usually start playing before it fully installs.

PS4

3. A few minutes for most full sized games. You can play offline within a few seconds while they install completely though. You'll then get a notification that the full install is ready.

2. I don't know, but on the PS3, patches are added separately in the game data folder. *edit* Nvm, this isn't correct.  Patches are added to the mandatory installs.  Rarely will they be separated.

Not on the PS4. I believe when you first get your xbone you have to do an install to be able to use the console without internet. I thik microsoft have probably updated that by now but i am not sure. After the first update I dont think microsoft will make you need online to install a game.

On the PS4 yes. They will dowload again when you start installing the game. Not sure about the xbone.

When I have installed games on my ps4 I Dot think it has ever taken more than 20mins but the installs are that fast half the time you barley even notice it. I know the xbone takes longer but how much longer i would not be able to tell you.

Dead Rising 3 took me about an hour to two to install and Forza took around the same time.

Xbone:

1. No. In fact in my experience it seems the process goes faster if you don't have Internet access
2. You can choose to delete the game or the game and the patches
3. Idk
4. Minutes, it varies by game. For example DR3 seemed to take ages for me to install for some reason. Ryse was like.. 90 seconds before I was able to play.

Average game install really does vary. MLB 14 The Show took a good 45 minutes for me to be able to play, while other games have been few minutes from putting disc in first time to play screen.

That's a bummer, basically if a game has any essential patches I can't uninstall that game, or it'll be gimped after the console isn't supported.
