Forums - Microsoft - Fortaleza: Are Microsoft's Augmented Reality Glasses up next?

If this road map holds even remotely true then we can expect Microsoft to reveal augmented reality glasses this e3 to combat Sony's VR push? Do you think they will go this route? and if so are you interested in this type of experience? What type of impact do you think something like this would have on the x-box brand and on gaming in general?

I might have missed the source

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

This looks like such a terrible idea I don't even what

Also, it refers to the One as the 720, you sure this is legit?

No way.

AR glasses have a bigger focus on the casual crowd than even Kinect. Microsoft wouldn't be unbundling one "failing" peripheral to just swap it out with another.

If Microsoft is to announce something along these lines in the near future for XBOX, I have a very strong feeling that it'd be VR instead. That'd give them a much better shot at taking back the core. Plus both Sony and FB are investing in VR. It's the hotter product.

By the way for those who don't have the reference, this is from a supposed leaked document from a few year's ago. In addition; even if this document is true, obviously Microsoft have likely been forced to make changes to this plan over time or may have been forced to scrap this plan entirely. In lieu of the recent unbundling of kinect due to poor sales these plans look less likely, but not out of the question, and def something Microsoft may follow as a way to combat Sony's VR initiative as well as it's much larger rival Google and it's Google Glasses.

I hope they unveil it in Fortaleza, Brazil.

I thought they cancelled plans for that.

AR glasses seem like a great addition. i personally like it better than VR at least. that is of course and unsubstantiated opinion since i haven't seen either tech IRL but i just feel like AR is better.
