I don't think they paid quite that much. I think the figure was closer to $50 million.

From the blog: GTAIV DLC

See thats something right there. Maybe hes talking the type of DLC, but not so much the size. I don't know if its really that big, because why would they keep it a secret? Maybe another Island, but a whole location or city wouldnt make sense.
Thats why too generous, and seeing as GTA is more popular than even Halo, its either they paid 300 million+ or this is smaller/only timed exclusive.

Good point. I don't think they want to canabalize future GTA projets. Why release such massive DLC when you can just put a little more into it and release it as a whole new game.
I think more like 3-5 extra missions each. The publisher wants to make money after all. They have shown with GTA 3 that a decent size installment can sell millions as a stand alone game. Take a look at the extra dlc you get for other games and it might be slightly bigger.
And I still don't know why everyone is freaking out over this exclusive. Now that they have their engine down expect at least two more games this generation. Probably by the time this content is even available we will be seeing screens for the next full game.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
*naznatips is exempt

I agree. If the content of each episode was on par with the level of content you'd find in a complete game, MS would have been a lot more vocal about it.

not Rockstar would want the information on the content limited due to them wanting the PS3 version to sell.

exactly, they would lose bucket loads of money releasing them as expansions, with such little time spans as 4 months. plus, not EVERYONE is going to purchase the dlc. so more money is potentially lost there.
I would think MS would be hyping it up more if it was true.
Thats like 2 exclusive GTA games right there.
