Forums - Gaming Discussion - So Mario Kart 8 isn't going to help boost sales of the Wii U huh?

I hope so for your sake. It's definitely NOT gonna have me go out and get one though. I've never been a big fan of Kart racing. I only enjoy NFS and GT series with real vehicles/cars/sports cars/super cars. Street Fighter and MK games have always been my favorites when it comes to fighting genre. +Knowing that Nintendo will always have their games priced to 50.00 for the next 5 years based on the Wii not releasing Nintendo select titles till about that time period leaves the whole Wii U platform as a VERY risky investment on my future gaming. So I'll still have to pass on the Wii U until "these things" change, and enjoy the PS4 and PS3 with PS+ buy some random Wii title I've missed...yeah right to much on what I have currently.

I wish people would quit making up their reasons why the Wii U and XB1 are unsuccessful and realize, 3rd party support IS important whether you liek it or not it pushes console sales. DRM is highly annoying, so is buying a controller or camera that you like but in reality masses will steer clear of and cripple console sales. It is what it is, just deal with it the Wii U has been doing it for a year and a half, and the XB1 been doing their stuff prior launch and after launch a good year+ too. So just deal with these company's terrible game based company policies that most people hate, and realize they messed up and it is what it is and it's not really going to change this gen just because 1 or 2 exclusives come out for either system. When was the last time you owned 1 or 2 games for a console? And left it at that. Me? Never I buy 10-25 games for each console I've ever owned. So I have no idea who they're marketing their consoles to? Apparently posters on forums that own NO NEXT gen consoles or bought one of the less game oriented consoles this gen...oh well...carry on.

Thanks for your input, I get not all games cater to the wants of all gamers. Just as Mario Kart offers nothing for you, racing sims tend to not hype me up. 3rd party games push consoles and no one is denying that, but it's sad to see you don't seem to understand so can great 1st party titles. I hope one day the Wii U will offer something more to your taste. If you cannot find 10 to 25 games for the Wii U that suit your needs that is understandable. I currently own 8 and have greatly enjoyed them all, and that being the year and a half they supposedly had nothing. I would like to say enjoy your PS3/4 and PS+ and thank you for stopping in on a thread for a game you obviously have no care for and expressing your opinion.

MARIO KART 8 Will noT push any units for the wii u matter of fact it will decrease wii u sales down to 100 and the wii u will be discontinued for having no games in the future and the virgins who play grown up games will lose their virginity

Thank you for your comment, Tom Hanks is busy deciphering the DaVinci Code, but when he's through with that I'll have him come down and help me decipher this. I'm sure it's a very thought out and intellectual read.

MARIO KART 8 will sell end of story

I agree Mario Kart will sell.

The bundle was discounted, right? It would be crazy if they don't sell through with a game like Mario Kart 8 with a discount. That would have meant things are even worse than predicted. It would have been crazy to pass up. I would have expected it to help sale the Wii U regardless but its hard for to me predict how much it will help.

Not sure, but every little bit counts. It's also a positive knowing that in this boost of sells that Nintendo will be making a profit, not selling at a loss.

Nobody in their right mind thinks MK8 won't move hardware.

It will move hardware, but not a ressurgence. Not even close. The console won't see 100K per week, not even on launch week.

So let me get this straight. You actually believe that MK8 wont help move 100K Wii U's for it's launch week? Are you being serious?

You don't have to agree with him, but it's not an outrageous prediction. That would be over a 300% increase from it's current numbers ^^;

OT: No one is saying it won't boost the WiiU's sales, but it's wishful thinking to believe a single game, or even 2, are going to suddenly "save" the WiiU.

Honestily?

I think 210,000...

Yes, for me at 2 week before MK8(17 May) Wii U sold 40,000, more of 30,000 of now...

On 1 week before MK8(24 May) Wii U will sold 70,000 (+75%) because the 20 May close the server on Wii of MK6.

And the week of MK8(31 May) Wii U will sold 210,000 (+200%).

This is my opinion.

We'll that's... Uh... Optimistic :p

edit: to any mods, tried to cut quote tree but iPad is being a prick >.>

is my way of being. ;)

Really hope it gives more lifetime to WiiU. After all no console deserves such bad sales, most of all, a Nintendo console.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...
