Anybody here got any funny "Englishisms" that they heard from talking to a non-native speaker? "Englishisms" being a term I coined to mean when they use words to make other words, with funny / cute effect.
My girlfriend is Chinese, and while her mastery of the English language is beyond that of most natives, she occassionally forgets the word she wants to use, and so she has to make do with an "Englishism".
My favourites so far from her:
Hailstones = "sky cubes"
Double chin = "chin chin"
Also, pluralising words that shouldn't be, "underwears", "sperms", "sheeps".
