What is the difference to what CoD has done so far? Both games got trailers and impressions on major outlets. The only difference i can see is that one is CoD the multi million seller across several platforms + kevin spacey. Mario Kart isnt gonna sell 20 million in one year.

Ninty needs to be smarter with their spending. And i am hoping thats what they are doing.

the difference is ive seen more coverage for COD since it was annouced than Mario Kart and Kart comes out in weeks, COD; months

The difference is money. ^^

Nintendo has lots of money, just no clue how to spend it.

I just think they dont want to squander it. Having big reserves shouldnt be the solution to everything.

Can you imagine going up to the bord and explain how you didnt manage to turn a profit on Mario Kart 8 in case all those adds didnt translate into sales? You get fired. :P

With that said, i agree with you in some way. I think they should make aquisitions instead of squandering it on TV ads before release.

The Nintendo Direct was terrible. My friend and my wife were watching it and they forced me to turn it off because of how annoying it was. The idea was cool, but the content was poorly executed. Hopefully they do some real advertising.

Its right for three weeks out. Promos in all retailers in USA. Nintendo FB and TW blowing up each day with content.

The week it launches we'll see tons of ads in retailer paper ads as well as the beginning of TV ads.

This, i dont see how people could really think Direct is adequate IMHO thats not advertisment. The people who watch those are the people who are going to buy Ninty stuff regardless

Right now, Nintendo is probably depending on us to tell our friends about the games, and review sites to spread the news of MK8.

Commercials will probably come once upon release date, they have the whole summer to advertise.

You forget that nintendo is ran by idiots

Started gaming on PS3 3/6/14 :)

Nope.Mario Kart is in the top 10 on Amazon but the WiiU bundle is nowhere to be found.

Nice assumption there! Too bad if not for the Directs I may not have ever gotten Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, or Bravely Default!
