Forums - Gaming - what I want to see in fps single player games.

I just finished ghost single player portion of the game, and it was just average at best. most fps miltary story lines all feel the same. just blaze through one set piece after another and overcome some complex tom clancy wanna be plotline. I'd rather have a fps story line, were your just an average joe trying to survive. I want a storyline were you just barley made it through the game and it tries to make you not feel like such a badass. I want to be able to put my hand on my heart and say,man that was close. I want something like a homefront plotline, but with way better execution. My dream would to be a well done vietnam fps game, were there's danger at every turn and you just barley made it out of there alive. I remember the brothers in arms games making me all emotionally invested in the storyline, but the don't make those anymore. I kind of felt the same way with the first bioshock game and the orginal doom game, back in the day. So,am I the only one that feels this way. So,am I just living a pipedream? thoughts? discuss!!!!

Around the Network

I think the boudaries between cutscenes and gameplay should be merged.
The characters you fight alongside should talk more and show more emotion. In war some people go crazy, some people become afraid, but in most shooters everyone acts neutral during gameplay and the games rely too much on the cutscenes to build up the characters.

Based on all the footage I have seen for Wolfenstein, if it ends up as cool as it is appearing to be, it may be an amazing FPS.  It seems like it is going to be a mix of over the top carnage, pulling at heartstrings, WWII, and Science fiction.  Sidenote, Doom is the best game ever made.
