Forums - Gaming - Driveclub Director Confirms 2014 Release

Today Design Director Paul Rustchynsky confirmed that the game is saferly headed for the shelves this year, but he declined to give a more precise timeline:

Still coming 2014, unfortunately I can’t share any more.

I wish I could provide a timeframe, but I can’t say anything right now.

He also clarified what he meant with a previous vague statement on microtransactions, promising that there won’t be any “consumable” boost available for purchase in Driveclub.

To be clear on microtransactions, DRIVECLUB will of course offer content to purchase/download. But there will not be any ‘consumables’.

Finally, Rustchynsky mentioned that the Thrustmaster T80 & T500RS racing wheels will be compatible with the game, but “at this stage” he could not comment on other models and brands.

At least it is coming this year, but when? E3?

Hasnt this been confirmed multiple times by this point?

Anyways im still curious to see how this game turns out. Wasnt for sure if it was a sim or a arcade game at first. MAybe something to go head to head with Forza Horizon. One thing im certain of though, it is pretty :)

I would imagine any official release date information is going to be held until E3. If Microsoft has a ton up their sleeve for E3, Sony's very likely lining up as much as they possibly can to try and match/exceed their hype.

I wonder how it will look against Project Cars, should be awesome

Yeah it feels like that Lol. This time it is straight from the horses mouth. More arcade than outright sim imo and yeah I think it's going to look fantastic. :)
