It's alright, we're used to the hate and animosity around here. XD

That's why we usually hang out in other forums like anandtech instead but it's just boring AMD vs Intel which we all know who's better and theirs not a whole lot of people that start the AMD vs Nvidia wars also.

Depends on the console lol.  I can build something stronger than the Wii U for under $300, and the same goes for the Xbox One.

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

Happiness and Joy? What is this foreign concept you speak of? Surely no gamer knows these things. Probably the biggest problem I have with communities is the hate & desire to make people miserable.

Apparently we are the master nerd race, buy games not to play just show graphics, wont get any GOTY games, live in our parents basement, waste our money, have huge egos, etc.

I mean thats some awfully strong stereotyping there

This. Games are games people, don't begrudge people who play them in a different way. I love my consoles and my PC, and really, they both have their advanteges and disadvantages. Those of you bashing PC gamers and vice-versa, grow up.

lmao you put my post there, i was talking about the term "PC MASTER RACE " , the pc people that claims that are superior to other people just because they game on a super pc. Its diferent than pc gamers, i am a pc gamer , i game more on pc than consoles. Those posts you quoted are people that didnt like the douches that claim they are superior being just because of teir pcs, if you want to see one of these guys go to 4 chan gaming section.

Im not trying to single anyone out but the overall tone in this thread is pretty hostile towards PC. Again if you were referencing a small group of people than my apologies but its obvious most of the pc gamers in here feel they are being targeted. Ive been here for a LONG time and I just see way too much fighting amongst the gamers here and  I strive for a better community.

My intention wasnt to insult anyone and if I did to you Im sorry. Its just some console gamers refer to anyone who plays PC as the master race and its easy to think your being insulted as a pc gamer anytime someone uses that term.

I feel like a lot of people are exaggerating here in both directions.  A lot of people seem to think its super cheap or super expensive.  I'd guess almost all of it would have to do with income vs. expenses.  

Raising kids is expensive - clothes, food, gas to drive them to school/daycare or staying home and instead having no job, etc.  

Having a car is expensive - gas, loans, repair, etc.  

Having a job isn't 100% income,  gas - you still have to drive there usually.  

Living is expensive - food, drink.  

Having a house is expensive - heat/ac, electricity, phone, internet, probably TV.  

Insurance - car, life, house.  

Schooling expensives.  

Taxes.

My point is that it all adds up.  I'm not against PC gaming at all, but I feel like some people need to realize that not everyone is as fortunate.  I'm finally able to get a fairly nice PC pretty soon.  It was hard for me to get here, and it's a PC that is like 1/5 or less of the cost of some of you.  (Or way^20 less for a few of you). And I'm far from poor.   

Also people need to stop being negative against PC gaming on the other hand as well.  Play games, don't hate!  

Good post and I think you make some very good points 

PC can be very expensive to get into up front. Especially for an enthusiast rig. The real benefit for PC gaming is the software. Thats where its "cheap". But yes your right being a PC gamer at first is by no means cheap.

Also good to hear your gonna be able to get your first gaming PC. Awesome news and when you get one hope you enjoy it. Your going to love Steam sales!
