Uncharted 4 vs. Everything :D
But Seriously i think it'll be The Order 1886 vs. Quantum Break. Both games sound promising and i personally think that both of them will be critically acclaimed, should make an interesting battle.

Sony contenders: uncharted 4, driveclub, the order 1886, deep down, planetside 2, everquest next MS contenders: the untitled halo, fable ledgends, quantum break, sunset overdrive, project spark, kinect sports rivals ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i'm feeling a showdown between the order 1886 and quantum break (assuming both release this holiday-ish). |
How about
Drive Club vs Forza Horizon 2
TLOU PS4 vs Halo 2 Xbox One
Fable Legends vs Deep Down
The Order vs Quantum Break
Kinect Sports Rival vs MLBTS PS4
Halo 5 vs Uncharted 4
Gears 4 vs God of War 4
Sony Morpheus vs MS next immersion attempt (this will be a good match)

Yeah and Halo 2 has been 10 years. I definitely wanna see what they can do with it. |
Exactly. It warrants an anniversary edition unlike some games *cough* Tomb Raider *cough* and should hold over the Halo fanbase while the 343 makes Halo 5.

Yeah Tomb Raider is an obvious cash grab. Halo 2 anniversary is a legit homage because lots of things change in 10 years.

Yeah it came out during Gen 6 and we're in Gen 8. It'll be interesting how much they can improve on it.

I dunno... I just don't think fans will pay $60 for a game they have already played. |
Re-releases i personally own:
god of war collection
sly cooper collection
ratchet and clank collection
jak and daxter collection
ICO and SotC collection
a ton of VC releases including (but not limited to): super mario world, LoZ:LttP, super metroid, DKC, DKC 2, super contra...
LoZ:OoT master quest
...probably a lot more but i'm done listing...
..trust me. there is a market for title re-releases.

the showdown is entirely with the fanboys, sure the companies get their advertising on but only to stir up the fanboys and drive sales. |
...and i'm a fanboy.

It launched on a console with a 70 million userbase. But maybe you could be right about the Halo 2 remake. |
There is something many people don't understand about Halo fans. They are divided into "lore" and "MP" categories. Halo CEA didn't have its own competitive MP and thus its sales of 2+ million were purely by the lore fans and those who enjoy the campaign.
Compare that to each mainline Halo with its own MP and you see that our love of the story is greatly fueled by the millions more gamers that just play Halo for its MP above all else.
Halo 2 not only has its own competitive MP, but it will bring back the MP from the dead, one that many regard as their favourite online Halo MP game. Throw in a Halo 5 beta code and you got yourself a hit. I wouldn't say it would sell the same as Halo 3/Reach/4, but certainly more then Halo CEA.
