DirectX, OpenGL, Mantle are trying to match what consoles APIs always had.
All hail the great age for PC graphics. Not that they would improve much but you can finally have some performance with high end cards.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This was always possible on a PC, with enough time and money.
DX12 is simply an API. It's silly marketing hype, because developers who code to metal don't NEED Direct X 12. It's the dumbest thing I've (and several other developers) have ever heard. This is why the developer comments are so silly.

I will not be apart of dx12 on pc, No win 8 OS will ever be installed on it again. I look forward to win 9 next year.
