Your reaction sounds like the reaction of most reviewers and everyone I know who went out and bought it.

Sucks to hear about the crappy city and dull characters. These were issues I had with Infamous 2 as well.

So what was the last game that totally blew you away? For me, it was Pikmin 3 and it damn sure wasn't because of the graphics.

Leave it to the internet to hype up anything.

The Internet can hype whatever it wants. It becomes your problem if you fall for it. Nothing I saw ever claimed anything aside from "Infamous on more powerful hardware." That's what it is. I still don't know why anyone was expecting more.

Last time I was blown away was Dragons Dogma. To be honest I could count the games in the last 10 years that blew me away on one hand. It's unrealistic to expect it from any new release and awesomely unexpected when it rarely does happen.

Dragon's Dogma, eh?  I didn't like that game.

I FUCKING LOVED IT!!  I don't know what it was but that game really struck a chord with me!  I even bought Dark Arisen and beat the whole thing over again.  Not the most critically acclaimed game but I don't play games because they get high reviews.  I play games because I love them and that game loved me back.

He said a bunch of shit in the op. And my reaction was opposite his in a number of ways.

But I can still think games like this and many others are worth a $40-50 dollar price tag... not the universal $60

I finally finished Infamous 2 last night and immediately went into Second Son (I love that you can you play instantly without having to install). I was thoroughly blown away by it. More so than the last two. Actually I hated the first one, but that's another story. I didn't watch any videos except for the very first trailer, so everything about it is fresh for me. I especially like the acting and mocap work. It's probably the best since Uncharted and The Last of Us.

Also, I like Delsin as the main character over Cole. Cole seemed so wooden to me and it was kinda boring to play as him. I like that Delsin enjoys his powers and looks forward to using them. Plus he's funny.
