What if its a video review?

watch the conclusion

But what if you don't know when the conclusion starts? Wouldn't you be spending too much time trying to find out where the conclusion is and ultimately ruin the review?

if they dont put a timelink in the description for different parts of the review its not worth watching

But... Majority of the sites don't even do that... Heck, I don't even know who does :/

exactly my point, good video reviews are rare

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Well... Isn't what most sites are doing these days is having a written review and putting that exact same review in a video? By saying good video reviews are rare, its basically like saying good reviews in general is rare. I like the way that gametrailers does it in the sense that they have a written review, a video review and they put the score at the end of the front page so if I am curious to get an idea where the game is at but don't care enough about what they say, the number system comes in handy, specially on the go!

a number doesn't explain why it's good or bad

I like the way Kotaku does it. Either a yes or a no...No number scores.

True enough but all I am saying is that there is still a place for it for convience sake for the people that don't have enough time to read/watch all the reviews... And if the final score is too far from what they had in mind, they would read/watch the review eventually anyway

I thought that putting a Jimquisition would help this discussion :3

Personally I dislike review scores because they're almost always subjective, I mean sure there are objective points in a game example being texture quality, but it's not rated objectively for most of the cases.

Squeezol's Fanclub Member? is that how it works?

Why can't I hold all these no gaemz?

Always looking to improve my awful drawings ;_;

Aren't reviews only useful to uninformed people ?

I have yet to decide whenever i buy a game based on a review or metacritic score, by the time a g

Ofcourse! Everyone should read the reviews.
Those numbers don't mean nothing if you don't actually read the reviews.

Some reviewer might give negative points for a feature you like, and might also give positive feed for something you despise.

I actually really like Gametrailers video reviews. They let me see the game as they review it, and shows me which parts they think are flaws/bad and which parts they think are good. Then I can more or less just skip the score, because I can make up my own mind more or less. :P

Or compare my own thought score to theirs.

I like actual ratings. I don't have time to play every single game so reviews help me decide which games to play. However, if a game looks really fun but reviews are average, I'll still get it.
