I would say the PS4. Titanfall isn't my cup of tea and for all the multi platform games coming in 2014 they will pretty much all be better on PS4. PS4 i think will have a better release schedule in 2014 too.

Well, for titanfall, it depends how much you personally want it and if you can or cannot play it on PC... as a reminder, the video card that can play it better than the xb1 cost only about 150$, so it's not an expensive piece of hardware, my guess is you don't need an expensive CPU and tons or RAM as well either...

A PS4 will always be a better option as it's better hardware coupled with software entirely optimised for the games (faster install times, a second CPU with dedicated RAM just for background downloads and tasks that run while the console is asleep... a streamlined OS, that just does what you need to do and does not get in yout way...).

Well you have Killer Instinct, Forza 5, and Dead Rising 3 vs KZ: Shadowfall when comparing big launch exclusives. While numerically outmatched, KZ is critically less favoured then other FPS juggernauts COD and BF4. X1 wins launch games by a long shot.

2014 paints a similar picture where it has timed release of Plants VS Zombies and giving away Titanfall with purchase. Essentially that's $60 free when buying the X1. Infamous is for you if you like the genre and got bored with GTA 5/Saints Row 4, but Sony ain't giving it away for free with PS4. It certainly isn't making that big a splash in the industry as Titanfall is.

Judging by the thread results, the clear reason PS4 is winning isn't even for gaming. PS4 is the better choice because you become part of a collective. You are part of the "winning team", surrounded by a majority of like-minded opinions that will not only agree with you, but boost your ego and confidence. This is extrapolated by the amount of time you spend on the internet. The more you are online on gaming forums, the more people will validate your opinion and make you feel good about yourself and the life choices you make.

It isn't current games, it isn't specs or price (though they are a nice bonus). It is the hype, the promise of what is to come, and complete and total validation.

Why do you always include Killer Instinct in the X1, but never talk about games like Resogun, Don't starve, Outlast etc? Resogun was the highest rated exclusive launch title, and yet you always seem to dismiss it, but you don't do the same for Killer Instinct.

Resogun sucks balls and you know it.  I played it once and I couldn't wait to get game over! ( Only one person in my friends list has made any attempt to do well in that game).  But then, so does Killer Instinct, imo.  Outlast is pretty badass, though.  I'm afraid to even play it unless somebody is home with me.

Well I disagree, but not everyone has the same tastes so I respect your opinion on the game. Have you tried Don't Starve? I've played it on PC and it was quite fun.

Okay. Okay.  I'll confess.  Resogun doesn't suck and I only did one practice match in Killer Instinct (really disappointed by the graphics, though).  I just expected more from it after seeing how people hyped it up.  Not on the level of Super Stardust or Geometry wars but hey, it was free.  Both seem to be okay games.  Sometimes I say stuff in the name of contraversy.  Sorry about that.

I watched the Don't Starve trailer a few days ago and I'll probably download it.  I've had my eye on that and Max Curse of Brotherhood but I have such a backlog.  And I have to pick up FFX and MGSV tomorrow.

i say spend 580 on a damn good PC that will have much more potential than the consoles

Some people want to play the exclusives that consoles offer such as Uncharted, Halo etc.
