Forums - Sony - More good news for Sony; their t.v.'s are kickin ass.

I have an XBR4 and its pq quality is amazing.
though the delay sucks. I didnt notice the delay at first, even when playing GHIII but when I hooked up my Wii, the delay was very noticeable.
gamemode takes care of the delay though, sadly I cant turn gamemode on on my ps3 because I watch a lot of movies on it.

I understand there tv's are the best in quality, but the price is horendous, I really cant figure out how they sold the most HD TV's throughout the holidays. I dont know why vizio wasnt in the list either.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

Why not? How is game mode turned on? You can't just turn game mode on when you play games, and turn it off otherwise?

I just have a regular TV with S-Video, but game mode is just at the press of a button.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

too much work. Theater mode is one button away, while you have to access home>video options>gamemode options>gamemode on>save changes for game mode.
Its too much work changing it every time.

Anyway the delay isnt a deal breaker when using normal controls, like I said I rock at GHIII even with the delay.
Its just that it sucks when using the wii controls, since I notice the slight delay when I move the pointer.

I have an XBR4, and I keep it on custom settings for everything.  I have yet to notice any delay.

It seems strange to me that it would only effect your Wii.

I actually have an XBR2 46" and haven't noticed the lag at all and I haven't put it on game mode or anything. I play through HDMI, but I'm not sure that would make a difference. I also haven't played anything that requires impeccable timing, so maybe that's why I haven't noticed.

Sony's TVs are definitely transcendant, though. I always kinda figured Samsung, Sony, and Sharp were essentially the same when it came to LCDs. But recently I got the latest 37" Samsung, and while the picture quality is great, the Sony is definitely better side by side. Is it worth the Sony premium price? Probably not, but it's not that rare that you can find both TVs at about the same price. I also prefer the Sony hardware design over the Samsung.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Sony, Samsung, and Sharp are the top three LCD manufacturers, in that order. The Sony displays are a bit better than the Sammys (which are a bit better than the Sharps), but their improved quality certainly comes with a price.

So it's pretty much agreed here that Sony makes the best LCD's, regardless of price? No way, agreement isn't possible, is it? I thought Samsung had the best, but looks like Sony was better than I thought......

well its easier to notice on the Wii because you can see the pointer follow along your movement.
I notice a slight delay if gamemode is off.
