Are you hyped?

 

 

This might be the first big step in many years. I don't expect leaps like Mantle but it should bring some nice new features and performance enhancements.

It's most likely exclusive to Windows 8.1 but I don't care since I wanted to finally switch this year anyway.

They will announce the DirectX close to metal extension... OpenGL too... Mantle will be dead like I predicted but it have its poupose of make MS and KG moved to the future.

So it will end like all the other things that AMD did well but never penetrated the market. If DX12 will even have half of Mantle's performance boost Mantle will indeed be dead. However MS should have an eye on portability so people can easily upgreade from DX11 to DX12.
