Look at the publisher. If doubtful, look at the developer.
KNOW what your favorite genres are.
FPS, Sports, WRPG/JRPG/SRPG, Arcade, Fighting/HackNSlash, Arcade Racing/Sim Racing, Motion Controlled, Platformers etc.
Then narrow down what developers you prefer, and trust. (not what keyboard warriors think, they rarely have an objective brain)
You can also buy non-new games and pay half or less, and if you get a bad one re-sell and not take a big hit financially on a shit game. Or just rent games.
