The handheld is doing okish over there and everyone keeps saying Japan only cares about handhelds, so will this be a big thing for them? Would Japanese gamers prefer playing Vita remote play over Vita locally? Or are all the big PS4 games already ported to the system anyway?

Basically everyone joked about the PS4 saving the Vita in the west, but how about the opposite?. Will the Vita save the PS4 in the east?

Why does the ps4 need saving when its gonna sell like crazy anyway?

Edit: And probably not since the Vita has enough good games in Japan to not care enough about remote play although it will certainly be used more

The launch is in 12 hours. I certainly think it'll sell crazy, but lots of people think it'll do bad because Japan only likes handhelds.

i think ps4 will help vita much more in japan than in america/EU/rest of world.

I think so. Japan has hotspots all over the place and the Japanese like handhelds more. With all games playable through remote play, they'll be able to play their console games anywhere they're at. PS4 is going to sell like crazy at launch, but I think this will push the PS4 to sell more once the launch hype dies down.

Nah, handheld gaming and remote play is not the same thing that's what Sony doesn't get, that's why the Vita doesn't have enough appeal, they need to treat the Vita as its own thing, not just as a peripheral for their home console.

I would think Japan would use Vita for remote play more than any other country which might help sell the vita more but i doubt the other way around.
