Forums - Gaming - Long Games--spinoff from Miyamoto's observation--Zelda

I dont know how people can sleep at night after giving up on a game (let alone live with themselves).  Even if the game sucks hardcore (to everyone else) I ussually find some enjoyment out of it and must finish it (although I am not referring to TP here, I love that game).

O yea, and BTW, I personally hate when a game fails to clear AT least 30 hours of gameplay before finishing SIMPLY the MAIN storyline.

A delayed game is good someday, a bad game is bad forever.

The game is a rehash of Ocarina of Time. One playthrough, and it becomes horribly boring after that. The gameplay is no different than the N64 Zeldas, and the dungeons have a very linear design.

After you play the first 10 hours of LOZ it gets really interesting, the story and humour is good and addictive, I used to play at night from around 1am to 5am while everyone was asleep. I can do this as I can choose my own working times and I decided to Work from 6pm till midnight. :) I played the game right through, it was my first Zelda game so I had to learn alot of new skills for the first time, but I really enjoyed it. One thing I HATED was that there was no "quick saves" like on the PC, and only 3 slots. But I accepted it after a while. I kept on trying to do things before I was meant to...so it was inpossible I wasted hours trying to do crazy things :) I got almost all the poes and 90% of the bugs, but I got too caught up in the story and finished it before I completed all the side quests but I still took over 70 hours to complete it :) I guess if you could say : How can you read a book for hours? Well, it's dead easy if the book is a good one :) on that note, I still have to get around to playing SSX blur...

"..just keep on trying 'till you run out of cake"

i havent finished any of my wii games yet. ATM i'm doing my final semester at university so I can't afford to fuck it up. Another problem I see why zelda is doing less then he expect in japan is because wii sports isn't bundled so people are buying it there instead of getting the free game and buying zelda. After all wii is about motion sensing so offcourse alot of people initially gonna want to play those type of games. Later on is when they will want to play epic games. Just look at FF series that still sells like hot cakes. I know some die hard zelda fans will flame me for this but zelda needs voice acting. People are tired of reading. FOr thsoe die hard fans that love to read why can't nintnedo make a option to change to a traditional sound track. Its not hard. Give the players more options thats what it shoudl be about.

I think it took me 56 hours to beat TP. This includes getting everything. All hearts, Poes, bugs, fish, and lures. Games are so long now these days.

Sorry, I vote against a traditional soundtrack and against voice acting. 64 hours for Twilight Princess here. I plan on going through again here, since my only big save is in the last temple, which it seems you can't leave. :(

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
