I have a few HDMi cables laying around. When I get a PS4, I should be fine. Appreciate the thread, though. I had no idea.

I got a $5 cheapo one from ebay which I've been using for like 8 months. No issues.

It amazes me that Monster can still find gullible people to buy their ridiculously (bordering on criminally) over-priced cables. I guess all the smoke-and-mirrors marketing about "oxygen-free copper" and other hokey horses**t actually fools people.
You can get a high-performance, well-made HDMI cable from Monoprice or BlueJeansCable for less than $2/foot and it will serve your needs as good as, and probably better than any Monster "boutique" cable costing 10-20x as much.

I used to be one of those fools, even in the analog era the difference wasn't all that apparent over short distances. I never noticed any difference in the variety of (same format) cables I used. I did spend $200 on a 24ft hdmi cable in 2007, build into the ceiling, to my projector. I'm hoping it's good enough for 4K. 2160p24 should be no problem, as 1080p60 works fine. 2160p60 over 24ft, dunno.
They're $18 for 24ft nowadays. $20 for 40ft, should be enough to run it along the walls if the current one fails to deliver 4K60.
The only cable that's giving me trouble is the monster hdmi cable, the thing is too unwieldy and tugs too much on the hdmi ports.
