I've got lots of great screenshots of KZ:SF, doing a second play through on tourist mode (easy). I just don't know how to get them off the damn ps4... Beautiful game, awesome lighting.

I believe you can upload them somehow to web site using the PS Browser like crazy_man did with those Donkey Kong shot on Wii U. I belive he posted how to do it a few pages back

Thanks. I had to go into the share menu to get the upload option. I had set the share button to quick screenshots and forgot about that menu. The only options are facebook and twitter though. After creating a new email and empty facebook account, does this work:

Couple shots from the 1st level, seems to come through in 1080p at least.

How can you get downsampled pics from 4k?

You have to run the program Nvidia control panel. Creat a custom resolution of 4k and tell the program to run the resolution directly off the GPU and not on the monitor. This leaves the original image still at 1080p shot but basically "super samples" the image giving it insane Anti Asialing, especially when combined with other forms of AA.  It gives you massive gains over a standard 1080p shot and hugely improves image quality.

its massively taxing on your rig though as you GPU is still running the game at 4k resolution, so you have to have the rig to do it.  As long as you do though its not too hard just a couple clicks.

is it playable for you when downsampling 4k? i still get perfectly playable framerates.

Oh yeah I play it with no problems. Witcher 2 with a 4k downsample and Ubersampling on taxed my PC pretty hard and I got some heavy chop in section with a lot of enemies on screen but I could still easily play it.

I'm trying to decide if I should SLI another 780ti or sell mine later this year and SLI 2 of whatever the strongest 800 series card they release is.

Thanks. I have a 2500k and a HD 7970 so I think I could try 4k on some games. How you capture your pics? Fraps? Something else?

two would definitely help, i found 2 card sli ran most stuff faster than running all three of mine, but theyre limited to 3gb so 4k is always going to push it a bit, with that said youre better off waiting a couple years and skipping 8xx all together

- Killzone pics

Killzone shadowfall, sad the pics dont show the true story :S

Quite the contrary. I think any KZSF pics (even direct feed png) say the real sad story, particularly compared with ultra sharp Crysis PC screenshots.

The strong blurring FXAA solution of KZ was the worst AA they could choose. Every high res textures are completely destroyed by the vaseline, what a waste. Far Cry 3 on my PS3 has better perceived resolution of textures than KZSF on PS4.

I agree with him, those pics (or any on the system, for that matter) don't show the true nature of the fidelity (PS4 could use its own FRAPS). And the textures of the PS3 version of Far Cry 3 are not something I'd use in a next gen/PC comparison. They really weren't all that hot.

As for "Ultra Crisp Crysis 3 shots", for the most part, I agree. However, that's an anamoly, because most PC games, even from 2011 on, don't look as good as that.

On to ShadowFall:

To be perfectly honest, I don't get the "vaseling" line. The bit/mip mapping is pretty accurate. Also, while the terrain is detailed (with some textures looking shiny due to direct contact with water), it is not overly done (an issue that plagued many titles last gen, particularly UE3 games). Their AA solution worked fine as well (a huge step up from KZ3).

Let me help you to better get it.

Here 3 native textures details from similar good quality jpg screenshots from: KZSF (from your pic), AC4 on PS4 and FarCry3 on PS3 (the first jpg I found on digital Foundry).

From left to rigth: Killzone, AC4 and Far Cry 3:

Note that AC4 is a cross gen game and Far Cry 3 (on PS3) has the anisotropic filtering in effect cause the top is farther.

The perceived lower resolution texture is KZ texture, all the high frequency details are missing. You can thank the FXAA vaseline filter. Even compared to Far Cry 3, IMO. Even if KZ texture may look more "real" cause many more shaders are at work, etc.,  it's still more blurry.

Of course on a 1080p screen, even low resolution textures is better than on a 720p screen because you have more screen space, but still, it's a pity because I am sure originally (before the FXAA mess) the KZSF textures are sharper than AC4 (cross gen game) or FC3 (PS3 game lol) textures.

Another example with Trine 2 PS4 FXAA versus PC 4xMSAA, do you clearly notice the vaseline filter on the otherwise perfectly identical PS4 version?
