What does an exclusive version for the Vita accomplish aside from beeing another bullet point for a list war ?
Having it on the PS3 and Vita like FFX HD would be far better.

Because it's one RPG game, I think RPG's work better and handhelds, I don't want to play it on PS3. Vita can give me graphic fidelity on PS3 level. PS3 version is not necessary for me. PS3 version are said to be expensive to develop. Vita versions are said to not being too expensive to develop. I'd rather not seeing they invest the cash on a just yesterday platform! If they make a PS3 version it's confirmed to not be cross-buy. Make it a PS Vita exclusive. End.

The PS3 version of Final Fantasy X HD has outsold the Vita version.
Some people want the game in HD, the Vita´s display isn´t HD and X doesn´t even run at native res on the Vita.
More options are better than less.
End.

The numbers we have would actually suggest the game on both platforms is at about statistical tie level. .27 vs .24 million. Then there is the fact that there is only 1 SKU on the PS3. All versions of that game contain both FFX and FFX-2. There is also a stand alone sku for FFX HD for Vita. That might make up the remaining 30k. I think the standalone version did 15k on launch so it's pretty highly plausible they are equal which is no small feat considering the Vita version is so gimped in comparison.
I do concur that more options are better than less for the consumer in most cases. Only the Vita fanboy in me that wants the platform to be more successful would think of making it exclusive. Vita failed too hard in the west for a company with global release plans to rely soley on that platform though :-/

Indeed, it appears only the Vita twin pack was tracked on vgchartz and not the standalone FFX or FFX-2 SKUs, so the numbers are under. Include digital for both (which we sort of have, given that Famitsu gave out that info for January but not December) and they're both in the region of 280k-300k (if someone would take the time to add the numbers from Famitsu properly I'd be very grateful), with PS3 ahead by about 10k.

I'm not sure that FFX-2 has a singular SKU for either platform. I prefer to not add digital sales cause VGcharz doesn't track them. Also we don't look like fanbois grasping at straws trying to make the platform look better than it is. Not that I don't think Vita has a higher than average download attach ratio. Just that in most cases we can't prove it so why feed the flames.

You're right to call out the fact that in Japan at least, digital accounts for very little (3%-5% even on Vita). However, seeing as we do have that information (especially because we do actually have all of it, it was actually November that was missing which is before it came out) it seems short-sighted not to include it (every little helps), plus FFX-2 definitely had a standalone SKU, even it didn't sell very much it still makes a difference when the margins are so small
If you take the latest Dengeki LTD number (227,301) plus the standalone FFX and FFX-2 SKU numbers from that siliconera article I linked (31,775 and 16,335, only as far as the second week so may actually be more now) and December + Digital sales (18,964) and you get 294,105
Add up all the available PS3 numbers from the same sources and it's 283,062 + 8,792 which equals 291,854, so basically parity
