It is not another product... it is a "Consórcio". Gamestop is offering a pre-reserve of the console while the buyer pay (example) $100 per month... when he paid the full price of the console (in five months) he gets the console. The difference in "Consórcio" here is that you can be raffled to pick up the product before to fully pay it. You need to have a lot of units in stock to hold it for some months to a specific customer... PS4 is close to SOLD OUT so they can't reserve a unit to anybody.
In popular words... Gamestop is creating programs to people that didn't have the money buy a Xbone because they are not selling the amount of stock they received. |
Well I know what they are doing... and "consórcio is a product".
If you gone to a car sales and just one brand or some of its models were elegible to a specific payment (like the consorcio) them the store could have some problems. Anyway, probably not a problem in USA since they don't have monthly payments for everyday products like in Brazil. And you may not remember car sales in Brazil of the 90's and prior. But you could pay for a long time your car and not have it available after that and wait for it (used cars were more expensive than new ones because of it.).

Can you give us an idea of how the PS4 and One are doing compared to their starts? Is the gap widening in favor of the PS4?
