Microsoft and Wargaming announced Tuesday that World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition will officially launch next week after spending much of the past year in beta testing.

Those that participated in the beta currently have access to the game as part of an early access period.

An Xbox LIVE Gold subscription will be required to play but downloading World of Tanks automatically grants seven days of Xbox LIVE Gold free.

The Xbox 360 version of World of Tanks was re-built by Wargaming West (formerly Day 1 Studios) to take advantage of the console and the controller interface. Premium tanks, consumables and premium accounts to boost experience and currency accrual rates are also available for those that don't mind plopping down real money in the game to progress faster.

It's about time, I tried to get into the beta and failed. Not sure what happened, had some issues with my internet at the time, so maybe the info never sent. However I never got accepted to the beta.

Others that tried after me got right in. I just waited for a email that never came. Oh well, I will be playing next week.

Well thats cool to have. MS didn't have to put the effort in to secure some 9th year love for 360.
