Nintendo does make good commercials, when they actually make them and actually market them.
Omg, more CAPS :/
Cool commercial though but, dem caps...

Not bad. It made the game look high quality. And people like evil penguins.
It's nothing ground breaking mind you... nothing that will make people way wow, I need a Wii U. But a solid ad for the game. Would be more impactful if the ads for the system itself were better.

$ 4 Million for 30 sec ? I don´t think it would be a good idea |
If they want to turn around American sales, great idea. There's a reason commercials are so expensive during SB.

$4 million is probably 20 times more expensive that what the ad cost to make. They are better off leaving this ad for Disney chanel and nickolodeon where at least they know their target audience will see it.

PS4 and Xbone are appealing as primary gaming systems, so you buy one to be set for your gaming needs for several years and all the big multi platform games release on them. Wii-U at this point is only appealing for people that want to play one or multiple of Nintendo's own games, and then $299 is to much. When i look at this commercial from an uninformed potential buyers point of view, is see a game that i might want, but i need to buy a $299 device to play it and that doesn't even include the game i saw in the commercial. I also see that the device comes with a controller with a screen, but the screen on the controller doesn't seem needed to play the game or even used. |
Read the above kids for an excellent example of what is known as confirmation bias. Make it a point in your life to at least try to be aware of your own tendencies towards this form of bias.
It was an acceptable commercial. Though I doubt that it's going to convince many people to buy a Wii U.
