god of war's gameplay is still amazingly fun.

...but ascension proves that the storyline is basically bankrupt. zezus is dead, there's really no where left to go.



i think santa monica should stick to the genre but base it on new IP. a new IP would give them a lot more creative freedom (don't need to cater to any of the existing mechanics simply out of nostalgia) and give them a chance to make something truly spectacular. ..to truly move the genre forward.

the studio working on the order 1887 (ready at dawn) was the one that made the god of war psp games, not the main line games (santa monica).   no one knows what santa monica is working on atm.

The GOW studio helps out with a lot of games. They're in the credits of Journey, The Unfinished Swan, PlayStation All Stars, Escape Plan, Starhawk, Sorcery, Sound Shapes,  etc.

With upcoming games they're already helping make The Order, Hohokum, and Everyone's gone to rapture. Plus they're in the middle of expanding. They're moving to a new building that can support 4 times the workers.

TLDR: Helping but they still have room left over for many more projects.

i dont want another one either. and its my favorite franchise, however, if they made one, i'd still buy it lol.

I want a spiritual Successor franchise. Another mythology but just as epic as GoW.

that would be amazing. i would love a hack and slash game in an Sci-Fi setting, where monsters/beasts/enemies would all be drived from that alien sci-fi setting. 

Sounds weird to stop making a premier beat-em-up simply because the story is done.

Do a reboot. Or just make a new game that isn't story driven and tout pure gameplay. Either way, it sucks that this IP was mythology based and therefore finite in what it could use as plot devices.

I thought they were going to make a new game based on Norse mythology next...? Y'know, Thor and stuff. Probably a rumour, I dunno.
