For a while yes. Then the US would be able to sort out it's own many problems rather than get involved in everyone elses. While there is oil around, i think America will chase it though.
War itself is only necessary when you are directly threatened. The last time that was for America was when Pearl Harbour was bombed by Japan in 1941. America or any western country wasn't threatened by Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan.
The only external actions by any country should be on stuff like trade or other agreements, aid or diplomacy
