LOL, yes a company like MS would pay for advertising without having their LEGAL team scan over the contracts...Ms must think everyone is stupid. Nothing but backtracking.

Ok so at first I thought you had a genuine moral issue with this but now I'm starting to think otherwise and it is just down to console wars again!

As I've pointed out previously, every company does this - including Sony - any of them could have been "called out" just as easily.

I know Im an over eager Fanboy poster. I am really trying to be subjective though now. Really. But I have to say, even with Machinima on their own clearing Microsoft of any involvement, people here and on other sites carry on.

The hate for MS is rediculous. Thats why theres so few MS left on VGC. Its sad. :(

Machinima has ZERo to gain from telling people to not disclose it is a paid add...Only MS has to gain from this arrangement, sorry this is damage control, you can bet MS knew what the details and asked to review what the details of the arrangement were. People will believe anything MS pr says.

And saying"WE didn;t know" is not heresay? It's playing dumb and damage control. You have to believe in the tooh fairy to believe MS doesn;t have legal and regulatory people scanning third party deals...In fact to be complient in business today you have to.

If you work in IT, you know today, every contract no matter HOW small, has to get the go ahead from the legal depertment and regulatory teams, multiple times. A large corporation like MS would NEVER let this go without knowing about it.........

Please refrain from the victimization, every fanbase deals with the same thing.

OT: regardless of whether anyone knew or didn't know, damage is already done, and machinima should be fined, or both.

Fair enough. I do agree. But the fanbase in question has gone from 100 or so when I first joined in 2007 to 10? in 2014. How long before none?

Thats true, 'playing dumb' never works whether its legal or ethical defense. It just makes things worse.

Machinima has openly admitted microsoft had no involvement and yet you continue on with the blabbering. Until you provide hard evidence or a convincing argument other than  assumptiions liike "Microsoft surely must have known about it yadda yadda yadda" then i can't take what you write seriously.
